Displacement and Migration

The photographs in Displaced Connections are of temporary refugee encampments at railway stations and closed borders - places associated with movement and mobility. They were taken whilst I was on assignment in Serbia and Greece with the arts-led NGO Clowns Without Borders UK. These images were exhibited at the 12 Star Gallery in London in 2018.

The Calais Sessions documents a music project that transformed a wooden shack in the 'Jungle' refugee camp in Calais, Northern France, into a temporary studio for musicians to record music and share their stories. These images became the subject of the exhibition Sounds Unseen, commissioned by St. Ann's Warehouse in NYC in 2017.

Placing Home shows work-in-progress for a new commission from Galway International Arts Festival 2021, for which I am working with people who have lived experience of Direct Provision - the reception system for asylum seekers in Ireland.
